Today I got a taste of what my life will be like when Mommy goes senile!
Mom has her office upstairs and off the room is a large walk-in attic filled with all the Junque my pawrents will eventually get rid of, but "not right now." Stuff like complete bed ensembles with matching quilts, skirts, pillow shams, lamp shades and even shower curtains...stuff like treasured books, a zillion half-written manuscripts, Beanie Babies (remember those, most of ours went to children's shelters). Stuff like Christmas decor, Halloween tombstones and giant spiders. Stuff like...a 1960s exercise bike that Dad felt he had to haul all the way from his pawrent's basement in Michigan to Kentucky where we lived, where it sat in the garage unused, and then was moved to Pensacola where it sat unused in the garage for another 6 months until it finally moved to where we live now...and ended up in the attic...still unused.

MEET HERMAN aka TATTLECAT
While waiting for more intermews to come in, Mom and I decided to intermew each other.
How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were
you a rescue?
Not a rescue, I was a runaway. I loves to run, and so at 8
months old, I runned out of my house and kept running through the woods until I
was good n lost. A very long time later...years probably!...I stumbled up a
steep hill and saw a house that smelled like kittehs. And there was a little
food on the front porch. So I ate it. It had spit on it, but at that time I
wasn't pawticular cuz I was starvy.
Anyway! I hung around, and this black and
white kitteh tried to run me off cuz that was his job: to run off stray cats,
as appointed by his boss, Moose, a tabby wif six toes. It was wintertime and
very cold. My fur had gotten sticky and snarled and turned hard like a turtle
shell. During a blizzard my future meowmy spotted me, called to me, and when I
came, she took me inside the warm house n fed me. She also put me in a big cage
in the kitchen cuz she didn't know if I...ya know...had an STD or sumthin. Then my
future daddy came inside the house. I recognized him. He was wif that black and
white kitteh who tried to run me off, and he threw a snowball at me, unknown to
my future meowmy cuz if she had known, there would have been heck ta pay! She
said to him, 'Meet James' and future daddy sez, 'He looks like a Herman.' So I
became Herman James. I had to go to the vet where I wuz shaved nekked. But my
new mom brought me home in a sweater and I've been happy wif her ever since.

MEET FridayKat_ASVC
Hi Anipals. I just met @FridayKat_ASVC and thought his purrrspective on living at a Vet Center would be interesting. Instead of doing usual questions, I let Friday and his hooman just tell us about themselves.
Meows Herman! Thanks for interviewing me!
My story starts with my hoomans, my family at Trylon
Vet-Austin Street Vet Center.
I remember some
very nice people taking me in from the cold, I was very sick and they
tried to fix me but I needed help, so on
a rainy Friday night in October , the nice people took me to a place where they
said they would leave me so that I could get better.
My mommy one says I was in bad shape and they didn’t
know if I would be ok. They didn’t know what to call me so they choose Friday.
Actually my real name is Larry, but they couldn’t understand me. Friday is kewl
though.

Meet Roni the Brat
How old were you when you moved in with your family?
Were you a rescue?
I was 4 years old when I adopted Mommy. We met at
Second Chance Pet Adoptions. I bit her to indicate that I had chosen her, and
the rest was history. I had adopted another family before this, but they
returned me to Second Chance because somebody had cat allergies. Can you
imagine somebody giving ME up?
What breed are you?
I am a very handsome Big Orange Boy (BOB) with big
white patches.
What inspired your pawrents to name you?
My name at Second Chance was Peppers. Mommy was not
fond of that name, so she changed it to Pepperoni to make it easy for me to
adapt to my new name, and then we shortened it to Roni. Some of my nicknames
are Macaroni and Rice-a-Roni. And Bratty One. I’m not sure where she got that
last one.

MEET MR PIE!
![]() |
| The Wonderpurr Mr. Pie |
Who doesn't love pie? Especially when pie is a lovable tuxedo kitteh named @Mr_Pie. It is my proud pleasure to bring you a most excellent intermew wif my wonderpurr furend, Mr Pie!
How
old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?
When I moved in with my sister, we were both 49 days
old. We were rescued by Sandbach animal rescue as we’d been found in a hedge in
Haslington, near Crewe. Our Mum was with us and we were a litter of 4
altogether. It was during the storms of October 2000 when we were born.
What
breed are you?
I’m a moggie or domestic short-haired cat.
What
inspired your pawrents to name you?
My folks gave us both Christmas themed named because
we were adopted around Christmas time. My folks thought that would be easier as
they would have more time to help us to settle in over a holiday period. My
full name is Mince Pie, and my sister’s full name is Christmas Pudding. We also
like the fact that we can be linked to the children’s nursery rhyme: Georgie
Porgy Pudding and Pie – although we didn’t know I was to become a bit of a
fatty.
Do
you have siblings? Do you get along?
Yes, I live with my sister Pudding, we used to sleep
in the same bed together when we were little but now we’re rarely seen sharing
a bed unless it’s very cold. She tolerates me, as she is the clever one in our
family. I like living with her and I love her really. She loves me too I think,
but has to keep me in my place. We often play fight but I would never hurt her.

MEET SHARKSHEPARD
I recently met @SharkShepard and discovered, after I got over her maybe nomming on me a little, that she's fun and interesting. So I asked her to intermew and yay! she agreed.
What breed of shark are you?
Ooooh! Cool! How did you get your name?
My name is my
Xbox video game tag – Shark Shepard. Shark because I LOVE sharks. Shepard
because Commander Shepard, from the Mass Effect trilogy, is the best video game
character EVER.
Describe your personality.
Big, toothy,
cheeky, cuddly, hungry, sarcastic, fun
Do you have a mischief incident that is still talked
about with your family?
Well there was that day I accidentally
ate the neighbor…KIDDING
