Squeaky and Elvis Celebrate their 4th Birthdays!

by @SqueakyElvis

Hi Herman and Everyone!
Just stopped by to tell a story about our original birthday.  This is our birthday month. Why do we get a whole month to celebrate? Well, because we are awesome and mommy doesn't know the exact day.
MOL!
The day we were born was a joyful day filled with angels singing, birds chirping and all animals rejoicing upon our arrival. The sun was out and the day pleasant. We can hear the angels now singing joyfull toons just for us.
Actually that story isn't entirely accurate.
The singing angels were really demons rejoicing that we finally got kicked out of ...well you know...that place that never freezes over. Apparently even the naughty guy had enough and sent us out into the world. This of course caused a uproar upstairs... You know...that place where all the good kitties go, but since that big guy loves all of us, regardless, we got to stay in this wonderful world.
A world filled with so many things to break and great treats to eat & ICE CREAM, which is Elvis' favorite snack.

It's been 4 great years, or as the FBI would say, 4 long years.
So, that's our story and we're sticking to it.
Happy Birthday to us, Squeaky and Elvis, and also to all of those born in this wonderful month of April
Sincerely,
S&E.

Squeaky and Elvis Review Downton Abbey Season 4 Finale

Herman: Well, it’s over. Seems like Downton Abbey just started, but now Season 4 has ended. Lets listen in on Squeaky & Elvis as they sit down to tea for their final review.
Elvis: *sips tea* Well, Squeaky what happened? One week Edith is barely pregnant and the next week she has had the baby, who has been adopted.
Squeaky: *sips tea* Yep! A whole 9 months went by in a flash. Wonder if the UK version includes the missing 9 months with all the glory of morning sickness and the letting out of waistlines?
Elvis: What did you think about the family saving the monarchy from scandal? *rolls eyes*
Squeaky: Purrsonally, I would have enjoyed seeing more scandal. It would have been entertaining if the truth were known that the Prince of Wales is a naughty boy.
Elvis: Indeed. And now…since Rose has been formally presented, I would suppose there will be a man courting her soon. Unless there aren’t any left because they are all interested in marrying Lady Mary.
Squeaky: All the boys are falling for Lady Mary. Though I rather miss Lady Zombie Mary. MOL.
Elvis: What about Thomas? How dare he bring a lady to look at the house, and then go upstairs!
Squeaky: Scandalous brother! Even though the lady in question practically bound up the stairs on her own with the enthusiasm of a naughty child. How was he to stop her?
*Brothers sip tea in unison*
Elvis: So now we must wait for Season 5. What will happen, do you suppose? Will Rose get married? Will Lady Edith find her man? Will the Abbey continue to survive? Will Thomas go to America?
Squeaky: So many questions and no answers until next season. *puts down cup* I’ve finished my tea. Thank cat! I’m more a milk and coffee kind of guy. So! Are you ready for #fightclub?
Elvis: *tosses up aside.* It's on like Donkey Kong!
Herman: Thank you Squeaky and Elvis for entertaining us with your reviews of Season 4. Stop by anytime!

Squeaky and Elvis Review Downton Abby

by Julie Tenopir

Elvis: Finally, mommy went to work so we can have our tea and review Downton Abby.
Squeaky: Indeed brother. I hate it when she is sick. She always wants me to sit with her and that disrupts my napping schedule.
Elvis: Tell me about it. I've got a lot of napping to catch up on.
*Brothers slurp tea in unison, with eyes half-closed*
Elvis: I'm desperate for a nap. Perhaps we should begin our review. It seems as though Lady Mary has suitors coming after her like ticks to a dog. Could it be there is a shortage of roles for performance people in the U.K. and they're trying to employ as many out of work actors as possible?
Squeaky: *answers with eyes closed* Or its possible the producers are parading potential beaus, not only before Lady Mary, but also before the television audience to determine which man will bring in higher ratings. *slurps tea*
Elvis: And what about our dear Tom? Has he found a new lady? I wonder!
Squeaky: I like her. She looks like fun. And speaking of fun... Ms Crawley has yet another suitor, it seems.
Elvis: *slurps tea* So, what about Mr. Banks traveling to York while his wife is out of town? Did he, or did he not give that nameless man servant a push into the street? Could he be a murderer?
*Instead of answering, Squeaky falls nose first into his teacup. The hot tea wakes him up.*
Squeaky: What! What happened?
Elvis: *hands him a napkin* You fell asleep.
Squeaky: *wipes his face* I’m sorry. I’m just so… *Yawn! Eyes close. Head nods.* Zzzz.
*Elvis finishes his tea, then retires to his favorite hidey hole napping spot*

Squeaky & Elvis on Oklahoma Tornado Animal Survivors

Our random thoughts are usually light hearted and funny, but this week we wanted to talk about the May tornado animal victims & survivors here in Oklahoma. Our paws may not allow us to be much help in the clean up, but our paws are capable of spending money. We wanted to list places our friends & #WLF comrades may donate to help the cause. How cool would it be to have the people of Oklahoma see donations from all over the world that come from our #WLF comrades.

The lovely Annabelle Essert @rainbowcatsx8  made a donation in our sissy's, Millie Miss Tidy Glo's honor to The Animal Rescue Center Inc center https://www.facebook.com/#!/animalresource

Thank you and High Paws! (By the way, did you see her picture? Can we say Meow pretty lady!)

If you want to send supplies to the Animal Rescue, here is a list of things they need:
towels, bedding (for crates), latex gloves, paper towels, trash bags, dog treats (sure they meant to include cat treats also), white copy paper, spiral notebooks, crates medium & large, hand sanitizer, food bowls & flea & tick meds. Sadly, items for horses are not needed...most of them went to OTRB.

We don't want to forget about their human parents. Here are sites for their donations.

A Bed of Memories by Squeaky & Elvis

Our mommy never travels unless for business purposes. When asked why not travel, she always answers "I like my bed and being with my babies." Us, of course.

We asked the same question and this is what we were told: Even though we are in another house our things are still here with us. Starting with her bed. It may not be a resort bed, but the bed belonged to someone who shares her last name. When she lies down, she sees where sissy Smokey spent her last six months and where her food bowl was kept by her pillow. There is the comforter with blood stains from when Sissy Smokey had her last nose bleed. The blood mommy cannot wash away.

This is the same bed our mommy shared with her three girls (Kitty, The Bandit, & Smokey) wrapped around her, protecting her from unknown threats when she came from a month stay in the hospital.

This is the bed Kitty shared with her during naps and The Bandit snuggled against her chest.

This is the bed where she now sees two sleepy boys all curled up next to one another on his pillow and one is in his pink bed, creating another memory…one of many more to come.

So you see it isn’t just a bed to our mommy. It’s a scrapbook of memories, created by some to be finished by others. Mommy says she would rather sleep with the memories of past, present & future than in a bed with none.

MEET SQUEAKY & ELVIS PRESLEY!

Bad Boys!
Bad Boys!
Whatcha gonna do...
Whatcha gonna do when your meowmy comes for you....?

Claiming the COPS theme song for their own, my pals Squeaky and Elvis make getting into mischief a top priority. They're fun and funny. So please welcome the bad boys you know as @SqueakyElvis.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

We were 6 months old. We are rescues from Kansas. Our birth mom had us under a porch then moved us next door inside. Just yowled for the door to be opened and moved us into a closet in the back room. This house was owned by the sister of our foster mom whom brought us and a sister to Oklahoma. She kept our sister Gracie and gave us, Squeaky & Elvis, to mommy. Mommy just lost Kitty the year before and The Bandit the month before. She said no before to taking us before the Bandit died, but our names came up in random conversions so she relented and took us in. It has been a party every since.
