PURRRFECT POPOVER RECIPE

There's nuffin like a good hot n steamy popover from da oven, right? Dis popover is nommy good wif my Signature Salad (see below). Dis recipe serves 6...or one if you reeeeallly love popovers.

You will need:
Popover pan- pikture below
1-1/4 cups ALL-PURRRPOSE flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1-1/4 cups milk
Softened buttah for brushing pan
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan if making cheesy popovers
Cayenne if making cheesy popovers
plastic wrap spoon bowl oven (duh! rolls eyes)

Catsablanca Spypawty Huge Success

Thankew for coming to my birfday pawty on Caturday.

@TweetingTruman did a wonderpurr job putting it all together, arranging for DJ's @ShaynaCat who pulled a double shift wif amazing theme mewsic, and @DoggyMolly and @SamTheWatcher, and fabulous barktenders @PepperPom,  my lovely fiancee Belle, @Frankencat1 @DylCat and @DoggyMolly (again, thankew all!)

We trended #2 right from the start. Spammers were wondering what #Spypawty was and one guy, not a spammer but, he stopped by to exclaim how surprised he was to see it wasn't about spies, but a birfday pawty for a cat, and he wondered what was so special about the cat. Me! So I introduced myself...and explained I'm wonderpurr so he should just dive into the fabulous pool cake (thankew Truman!) and join in the fun. My bestman and pal, @NerissatheCat wanted to claw the guy for being rude, but I explained he was just uninformed. But I'm so pleased that my buddy had my back! Thanks Niss!

How old were you when you moved in with your family?

Dad bought me from flea market in Daytona, FL. I was a sort of turtle mill place, now outlawed. I was a baby.

What breed are you?

I am a musk turtle, water turtle. I can hiss stinky stuff like a skunk can. I can also breathe through my tongue, a newly discovered fact about my breed.

MEET SCARY SMART KITTY

Anipals, I am proud to introduce to you a special furend of mine. Lil Bit n me go way back...practically to last spring when we met. I think it was spring. Anyway! I liked her right away. She is very smart -- scary smart -- and a loving, wonderpurr Anipal that I know you will adore, like I do. Please meet, Lil Bit aka @ScarySmartKitty  Yay!

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

I waz a little bitty kitty maybe eight weeks old. I waz living outside cuz my burf mom abandoned me. The neighbor v.e.t. captured me once. She knocked me out and when I woke up I had a sore tummy and a notch on my ear and I was in a cage. I got really mad and fought and screamed so she put me back outside. I lived in her shed and she put food out for me. But it started getting really cold and I waz still very little but scared of hoomins. My mom (not yet my mom) wuz outside one day and I came close. And a boy came out and sat down and talked soft to me so I came to him and he put me in his coat where it was warm. He brought me inside. It took a long time but I got used to de hoomins who lived in de house, especially my mom.

What breed are you?

I guess I iz just a regular kitty. I am dilute calico colors, and has a nub tail but I am not a Manx. De v.e.t. lady said I was borned wif de short tail. Mom finks it's cute. I do too.

What inspired your hoomans to name you?

I iz little! My first litter box wuz a lean cuisine box and I fit in de palm of mom's hand!

Meet Peanut and Gromek

You are in fur a special treat. I got brofurs @CapnPeanutzilla and @GromekCat to both intermew together. I loves these guys. They are both members of #BrianBunnySuperFluffCrimeFighters and super great furends.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

GROMEK: I was about one and a half years old when mom got me. I had followed a tech back to the emergency vet clinic where my soon-to-be-auntie vet worked at the time, and waited outside until they let me in! Mom came to meet me because she wanted a kitty to take with her when she moved away from home, and that was me! I was an only kitty for about 5 year, unless you count dad --- we adopted him somewhere along the way there.

PEANUT: I was 9 months old when mom n dad adopted me! A vet tech at a different clinic where auntie vet was working found me and brought me in when I was just a teeny tiny peanut (only maybe 6 weeks old). I was there LONG time cuz I gots a few special needs.  As you can see from the pictures, I gots only one eye that works and one that doesn’t, When I was found I had a bad kitty cold and my eyes were crusted all shut. I was very sick! By the time I got better, my eye was all scarred up like this and I can’t see anything out of it-maybe just light and shadows. I also had a heart murmur-and kind of a big one too-what they call level 2 or 3! So I had to have a big visit with a cardiologist, and an echocardiogram, too. They said I had a potentially serious problem and should come back to see how it progressed when I was all grown up. When I went the second time, though, they didn’t see much trouble at all-so for now I have a pretty good shot at a normal life!

Sophie is my rescued little sister.  I tolerate her in the presence of humans,  Sometimes the pretense fails 

and they see we have fun together.  She is an attention hogger though.

How would you describe your personality?

Pretty demanding, and do what I want.  Love my family though, but they need instruction that I am 

happy to give.

No, I was purchased as a puppy.

Pomeranian (oversized, I am twice the size of the AKC standard)

What inspired your pawrent to name you?

Mom had a dream about an orange Pomeranian named Pepper. That is when she decided it was time to get a dog.  She looked in the newspaper and made some phone calls, and found me!

Do you have siblings?

No, at this time I am an only fur.  Maybe in the future I will get a fursib.

How would you describe your personality?

I am happy, curious, playful, smart, bossy, stubborn, funny, alert, and vocal.

Meet Bode @4catsstrapski

What can I say about my pal Bode except...I loves dis guy to pieces! He was my mechanic during the Great Spring Street Race. And he's one of the nicest furends I've made here on Twitter. Please welcome Bode.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

I was five years old when I entered mom's home and heart. I was a cat that someone had let go and I lived in the wild for a while.

What inspired your meowmy to name you?

Mom had a hard time naming me. But watching the 2002 Olympics she saw bad boy of skiing Bode Miller and that was my name, bode. I have lived up to the bad boy part.

How would you describe your purrrsonality?

I'm standoffish. I have to initiate the petting. I'm not a lap cat much to mom's sorrow. Don't like to be held. Only lived with Smokie and he was Alpha cat. Now I rule the roost. I also am a talker when I want something. And I do tell mom when there is something special in the litte box to be cleaned right now.

Do you have any health issues?

Some but they are related to getting older.   I'm going to be 15 this year so that's to be expected.

Wow! 15! That's great pal! Do you like to be brushed, have your nails trimmed?

I love to be brushed, combed and petted if I ask for it. Nails I do myself. Had one nail clipped. Never again.

What is your relationship like with your veterinarian?

I love my veterinarian, Dr. Anderson. I may complain to and from him but 'm always a perfect gentleman once there.

Meet Mario...da Cat!

My pal @MarioDaCat is head barktender at #Nipclub, on duty around 8p.m. His Nipclub bio reads: Mario is a traditional barktender with a good ear, a big heart, and if the music is jumpin' you might catch him shaking his tail behind the bar, or even on the bar. He's sure to please!!

Well, he's also a really good furend and I have enjoyed knowing him. I sat down wif Mario after his shift at #NipClub had ended. Over bacon beers and nip cheese snacks, we talked about his life.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

M & D came to the Humane Society in our city looking for another kitty to love as their beloved Misty had to be put to sleep due to kidney failure. They had just been on a cruise to Italy with their daughter & husband and couldn’t stand the quiet house with no furbaby in it. The shelter thought I was about 2 at the time.

What breed of cat are you?

I am a domestic shorthair – or as mom says – a barn kitty (even tho I’ve never been in a barn in my life – silly oomans.)

Meet Penny and Tippy... The Meow Girls!

Who doesn't like to hang out wif a couple of lovely ladies? Tippy and Penny haz great purrsonalities and are wonderpurr friends. I sat down wif the ladies after their shift was over at #NipClub and asked about their life.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

Penny: I was 2 and had been returned to the rescue twice. Kathy saw me on Petfinder, said she had to have me and we fell in love the next day. It was so cold in that rescue place. I had a cagemate and we kept each other warm

Tippy: I was less than a year old and had kittens. My former people left me and my new kittens in a box at the shelter in the hot sun on an August Sunday. The people from the shelter found us early Monday morning. They took us in. They fed us and gave us water. It was soooo good. Soon I was spayed they put up for adoption. One Saturday Annie and Kathy came in. Annie was looking for a calico kitty because hers had recently gone OTRB. They let her pick me up. I liked her but had to play hard to get. You know what I did? When she put me down, I ran into my cage and closed the door after me.

What kind of cats are you?

Tippy: I am a Calico and Penny is a Gray/white tuxie.

How was your mom inspired to name you?

Tippy: Well, Annie first named me Libby after the Liberty Humane Society, where I was adopted from. But when I got to my furever home, I always ran around the house. I ran funny so Grandpa called me Tippy Toes. That became my name.

Penny: I was 2 years old when Kathy adopted me. My name was Penelope. She liked my name and wouldn't change it. Then she shortened it to Penny. She calls me both names. Sometimes Grandpa calls me Philadelphia just to make everyone laugh.

Meet Jin Jin Doggy!

She's a moooover and a tail-shaker among her furends. Jinny loves to barktend at #Nipclub and go to pawties. And she's really a wonderpurr furend to have. Please welcome my furend, @JinJinDoggy.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

I was 3 when Mama rescued me. My human Daddy was a friend & he died so Mama took me & my sisfur Blaze 2 live with her. Blaze is now OTRB.

What kind of doggy are you?

I am prolly a Cocker/Chow mix. (black tongue)

How was your mom inspired to name you?

My Daddy named me after the arabic Genie - they are called "Jin"

Do you haz any siblings?

I have my sisfur Lab Doggy Pixel.

How would you describe your purrsonality? With your hoomans? With your siblings?

 I'm the alpha doggie, even tho Pixel is twice my size. I'm old now so I'm not so stubborn, but I still get my way. I'm always happy & always begging for food. I'm kinda grumpy with other doggies on a walk but when we went to dog park I was nice 2 efurrybuddy.

Do you have a mischief incident that is still talked about with your family?

I would open the trash drawer with my paw & pull out trash or open cupboard door & pull out cereal for Pixel & me.

Tell me about an Awww moment that made your mom melt.

I used to steal shoes. I would go into closets & get a shoe & take it onto my laundry room blankie. Not chew, just guard em. Mama called me Imelda Barkos.

Do you have any health issues?

I'm 16. I have Cushings & am on meds. I have bad arthritis. I fall down sometimes. & have loosy poops.

Meet Nike @NikePurrfecktcat

Nike and my mom got to be good furends cuz they're both writers, so Nike and I also got to know each other. She's a good furend to haz, and very supportive. I think she's very purrty and smart too. Please welcome, @NikePurrfektcat 

How old were you when you moved in with your family?

I was just about a year old.

Were you a rescue?

Yes! I was a feral cat, living on the streets. A single mother of six.

Only a year old? You poor baby! What kind of cat are you?

I am a tortoiseshell cat.

BeeUtiful torti! How was your mom inspired to name you?

She had a short list of goddess names and god names from ancient Greece and Rome. When she called the rescue place and they told her about me she narrowed it down to two or three of the female names. When she saw me and my 'swoosh' on my nose she knew it had to be Nike.

Do you haz any siblings?

No thank you very much and I do not want any.

Boy, I do understand that. I envy you. I wanna be an only kitteh too. How would you describe your purrsonality?

I can be shy with strangers. Once I get to know you I am guardedly affectionate. With Mum and to some extent a couple of other humans I am love wrapped up in fur. I can be demanding and I am very talkative.

Happy 18th Birthday to Cagney!

I recently met a wonderpurr Golden Girl by the name of Cagney. She's lovely! Smart, affectionate and I wanted everyone to know today, April 15th, is her 18th birthday. Please welcome @Cagneythecat

Today is your 18th birthday! Concatulations! How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

I was a rescue kitty – I was about three months when Mom found me and Lacey at an adoption day at our town’s library. She saw Lacey first – she was in the same cage as a bigger cat who was hassling her, so Mom, who was only window shopping that day and had no intention of getting a kitty, offered to hold her for a bit. Lacey started purring and cuddling against Mom’s neck and that did it. She knew 2 kittens would keep one another company, so we started looking around. Once they saw my cute face, it was history!

The adoption folks claimed we were from the same litter – but when we checked in with our vet, he said Lacey was maybe 3 months older. I don’t mind – whatever it takes to get kitties into forever home is fair game.

My first vet helped Mom to figure out our ages when Lacey and I were adopted. Of course we didn’t know for sure, so we set it so Lacey was born January 15 and I was born April 15. (The year was 1994!)

What breed of PET are you?

An old fashioned American domestic shorthair. BUT, I am also known as a tortie with white, or as Mom says, a tortie tuxedo – I have white mittens and bib…and a black necklace. Very fashionable!

MEET JAZZ and CAPTAIN WORM-SPARROW

I met Jazz and Captain Worm-Sparrow right after I joined Twitter. I kept calling them Mouche cuz that's what I thought her name was. Then I found out not only are there two kitties tweeting as @ClingyCat but neither of them are named Mouche. I loves them both, though. They are super great friends and I am so happy they and their mom, whose interview is featured below theirs, has agreed to appear on my blog. Please welcome Jazz, Captain Worm-Sparrow and their mom, Carolyn Cullen. (A-paws! A-paws!)

How old were you when you moved in with your family?

Captain Worm Sparrow: I was just 12 weeks old & cute as a button, when dada & humum realised they could not resist me.

Jazz: I was 8 & ready to live in luxury, I'm still waiting....

Were you a rescue?

CWS: I was the last kitten of 8 to be adopted from the RSPCA (can't believe I wasn't picked first, *indignant ears*) Our house had too many cats!!!

J: The 'rents finally saved me from the indignity of sharing a cage with a fluffy grey bully, 3 weeks after stealing my affections in a display of which I am not proud, but needs must.

How was your mom inspired to name you?

Captain Worm-Sparrow

CWS: Naming seems to be quite important at our house and the pawrents were concerned I get the right one.  The RSPCA had named me Shadow, but the 'rents knew that wasn't for me.  Dada started calling me Worm cause he says I wriggle much! But I'm more cat than just one name can contain, so when I started swinging from the curtains, Dada added Captain.  Humum wanted to ensure it was understood I was a pirate & added Sparrow, I like to think its also because I move soo quick it looks like I fly. MOL. I suspect my first name may be Bloody cause dada yells it before Worm an awful lot.

JAZZ

J: My first mum called me Jazz & at 8 yrs old, I'm not willing to have that messed with.

How would you describe your purrrsonality?

CWS: I know I am delightful and provide the Je ne sais quois this home was needing.  With your dada? With Dada I am a bit cheeky & like to tease, nipping in and out of rooms he says I shouldn't be in, almost before he realises. But when he picks me up for a cuddle I'm his cute little furry baby. With your humum? With humum I am all she needs. As a rascal I make her smile, teasing Dada makes her giggle but above all we snuggle & love each other. With your sibling? Jazz is way boring, no matter how many times I ask her or how much fun I make it, she just won't play, but I never give up.

J: I am a private feline and you must earn my acknowledgement.  With Dada? He sometimes feeds me, he pats me, worries over me, cleans up my fur balls and I let him.  With humum? I let her pat me, feed me, kiss me, love me, share her bed with me & clean my litter tray, I even deign to be on the couch with her at times.  With Captain Worm-Sparrow I must simply state I despise her & can't believe the pawrents thought they needed her after bringing me home.  I whack her regularly to keep her in her place.

Meet Marie The Tabby

Marie first caught my eye when she was dressed in her cheerleader outfit. Grrrr! (notices Belle frowning, hands on hips...chokes) I hadn't met @Frankencat1 yet so.... um...  Anyways! Marie is fun and wears really cute avi's. Please meet MarieTheTabby.

How old were you when you moved in with your family? Were you a rescue?

I was 8 weeks when I moved in with mom & dad. The people that has my catmom didn't want me or my brother.

How was your mom inspired to name you?

Dad was really the one that named me. He was looking at *Walt Disney's Aristocats*. He said I looked like the cat Marie, even if I'm not white. MOL.

How would you describe your purrsonality? With your hoomans? With your siblings?

My personality is purrfect. I get along with ALL hoomans, but they have to like me. I fight with my brofur, BEAR. He's a meanie.. My green eyes & being so loving towards mom, makes her melt. I just LOVE my mom and dad!!

Meet Skeeter the Tabby!

Everybody knows Skeeter the Tabby! He claims to be a big lazy tabby who noms on Temptations all day, but hiz furends know better. He's up at the crack of dawn making us all breakfast (#brekkieclub). He's zooming around Twitterverse in his cars and tractors. He changes his Avi all the time (he's worse than me!) His significant other is @Nikepurrfektcat.  @SkeetertheTabby iz fun to know. And for those of you who don't know him, well...read on!

How old were you when you moved in with your family?
~We not 100% sure of my true age but we tink me was 4 or 5 when me was adopted.

Were you a rescue?
~Yup ! Meowmy got me frum da local shelter, dey not be a " no kill " shelter.

How would you describe your purrrsonality? With your hoomans? With your siblings?

Me is my Meowmy's baby…me luv to be wif her all da time. Me make her laugh and we play lots! Me & my sisfur Mia get along most of da time, but we haf our moments *Whispers* she drive me nuts!

Do you have a mischief incident that is still talked about with your family?

 ~When we lived in a ranch house me got up on da roof and Meowmy couldn't find me. She asked all da neighbors if dey had seen me and one of dem said "Yea, he's on your roof! " Heee!!!

Tell me about an Awww moment that made your mom melt.

~The day Meowmy adopted me. Da adoption staff set me on da floor in a wittle room and me ran right over to Meowmy and climbed up on her and gave her hug ! Me acted like me had known her furever, she knew she had to take me home.

Do you have any health issues?

~Da vet say me haf a heart murmer, but it not give me no trouble. Me also haf lump in my throat dey keep watch on, but it been ok too.

Do you like to be brushed, have your nails trimmed?

~Me will tolerate both but me not like hafing my ears cleaned! Ack!!!

What is your relationship like with your veterinarian?

~Me like my Dr. Michelle...she nice to me and always calls to check up on me.

Do you like certain hoomans outside of your family?

~Me luvs my Grammy! She spoils me when me stay wif her!

What are your favorite foods and toys?

~Me will only eat dry food and crunchy treats like Temptations. I luv catnip mice and small plastic toys dat haf cool shapes. Me luv to shred paper also...makes big mess!

What is your birth date, or Gotcha Day date?

We tink my birfday be December 8. My vet tink me is between 8 & 10 yrs. My gotcha date be Jan 4.

MEET TIGGER!

My furend Tiggy is very special to me. He's orange. And he haz urinary issues like me. Hiz momma sent me some medicine that Tiggy couldn't use and my mom really appreciated such kindness. Please meet my furend, Tigger, @TiggyBean.

Tiggy, did you always live with your family, or were you a rescue?

I was born feral and lived in a tree until I was about 4-5 months old and my feral mom brought me and my litter brother up to the humans house for them to feed us.  She left us there with them.  Her feral sister watched out for us for a while.  I was very friendly and pretty much adopted the people.  My brother Willie is still feral but has gotten better over the years and he lives by the big oak tree in our back yard.  He has a gf/bff Winnie that he lives with in a dog house with hay and a big cat bed. My Mama and Daddy have always fed ferals and did TNR on them so they would not be reproducing.  The ferals are as happy as they can be.  They are fed twice a day (sometimes more if they beg) and have clean water.  Mama bought 4 dog houses that have hay and old pillows in them.  One is on the deck, one in the back of the yard and 2 under the barn.  They all have shelter any time.  They also have several hay bales under the shelter of the barn so the cats can get in the hay when it is cold. Mama says if she had the money she would turn the barn into a house with heat and air and beds they could get into when they wanted.  She will have to win the lottery for that.  hehe

I have 3 fur sibs.  My oldest brofur Dee is a tuxedo kitty.  Tony is my younger brofur and he is orange and white tabby.  Cocoa is my sisfur and she is a torti.  I get along with them all well.  Most of us are kind of loners except Tony.  All of us are former ferals. Mama and Daddy work to socialize all our ferals.  They can rub all of them now except 2. 

Are you a snuggler or an indiffricat?

I am indifferent. I don't snuggle much but if no one is looking I will snuggle with my Daddy.  I adore my Daddy.

Chasing sisfur Cocoa.  It fun!

Disappearing for 12 days.  

Tell me about an Awww moment that made your mom melt.

Mama melt at everything I do. Mama describes me as an angel from heaven that was sent to her and Daddy.  She truly believe that I was sent from heaven from her Dad to be with her. We all were. 

What are your favorite foods and toys?

My favorite food is Temptations and Pro Plan Senior Turkey.  I like hair bows and nip toys.

I joined twitter in 2010.  I am a member of the #wlf and a #nipclub barktender.

The #TiggyTrot.  I don't run I trot everywhere especially when I am happy.  I also like to give smooches.
